Roscoe Collegiate Featured in TEA Annual Report

Roscoe Collegiate in the TEA Annual Report. (Click image to enlarge)
Roscoe Collegiate ISD was one of only four schools mentioned in this year’s 2018 Texas Education Agency’s Annual Report. Roscoe was featured for its P-TECH programs that provide professional certifications and its partnerships with Western Texas, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M that connect high school to career and college.

The other three school districts, Austin ISD, Alief ISD, and San Juan-Pharr-Alamo ISD, were all cited for their Early Childhood Programs. The compilers of the report could have included Roscoe there, too.

WEATHER REPORT: A TASTE OF SPRING

Cloudy skies at dawn on Groundhog Day.
On Groundhog Day this year, last Saturday, Punxsatawny Phil, the groundhog up in Pennsylvania, and Bee Caves Bob, the armadillo down in Austin, both agreed—we’re going to have an early spring this year. And, indeed, it felt like spring this past week with some premature springlike weather.

Afternoon highs on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were 68°, 65°, and 68° respectively, with lows of 38°, 46°, and 51°. And this week was even warmer. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and yesterday all had highs in the seventies, 75°, 76°, 75°, and 74° respectively with lows of 50°, 50°. 52°, and 56°. The weeds all think it’s spring already, and are growing like crazy,

However, all this came to a screeching halt last night as winter weather makes its comeback with the norther that came through. The temperature this morning was down to 39° and today’s high is projected to reach only 54°, twenty degrees down from yesterday’s high. Tomorrow morning's low should drop to 25
° with a sharp north wind that makes it feel like only 12°.  The high for tomorrow and Saturday will be only 40°. Sunday, however, will be warmer with a high of 58° and Monday even more so with a forecast high of 70°.

Today should be sunny but with a cold north wind. Tomorrow the wind will die down, but skies are forecast to be cloudy and remain that way for the following four days.

There’s a 20% chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday, but nothing otherwise.

  1. Miss Wiman was one of a kind! I was in one of the last classes she taught, school year 1975-1976. She taught Mother and three of us. We also knew of her kindness and faithfulness to God through family connections and church. Her legacy lives on because my sister's and I have taught I our children...."Miss Wiman said such and such". I believe well done my faithful servant was what she heard as she passed on to eternity!
